What is Evidence-Based Medicine?

Physicians diagnosing and evaluating treatment plans have traditionally accessed their own experience, reviewed literature and consulted colleagues and specialists.

Evidence based medicine is the use of the most currently available best evidence in diagnosis and treatment. Scientifically researched, systematically organized and critically appraised evidence replaces the idiosyncratic choice of resources. Clinical Evidence (CE) and Evidence-Based On-Call (EBOC) are two examples of EBM databases used in this project.
